Why this workout log works

Showing up is half of fitness; progressing is the other half — and you can’t progress what you don’t track. Writing down exercises, sets, reps and weight means each session has a target: last time’s numbers. The log quietly turns ‘I went to the gym’ into ‘I’m getting stronger.‘

How to use it

  1. Print the PDF (US Letter or A4) — one per session, in a folder or on a clipboard.
  2. Log each exercise with its sets, reps and weight as you go.
  3. Next time, glance at last session’s numbers and aim to beat them. That’s the whole game.

Questions

Is this for the gym or home workouts?+

Both. Exercises, sets, reps and weight cover lifting at the gym; for bodyweight or home workouts, just use the weight column for notes like band level or hold time.

Why log my workouts?+

Because progress is the whole point, and progress is invisible without a record. Seeing last session's numbers tells you exactly what to beat today — that's how you keep improving.
